Welcome 2013 — Guest curator for the Best-of-the-Rest calendar, January 2013, Ms. Mikaela Sardo Lamarche is the curator for ACA Galleries in New York City. ACA Galleries was established in 1932. The gallery specializes in 19th and 20th century American Art, Modern and Contemporary paintings, drawings and sculpture including American Impressionism, Stieglitz Circle, Ashcan School, 14th Street School, Regionalism, WPA, American Abstraction, Social Realism and Abstract Expressionism.
Ms. Lamarche selected a watercolor by Jacqueline Saunders of Burke, VA for January 1st, thereby launching the year with A Day for Wine and Roses. “Appropriate,” she said.
Eight artworks are to be retired under the Barebrush practice of retiring artworks after selection for three calendars. They are: Cove Triple Portrait by New York artist, Jean Marcellino; the enigmatic still-life portrait of Nutella, Surrender You Scallywag, by Hannah Davis of Brooklyn; Face off by Alex Knowlton, also from New York; Waiting and Blue Sundress, both by David Schulz of Middletown, CT; Portrait by Robert Nizamov of Moscow, Russia; Three Views of Nicole by Jacqueline Saunders; and White Orchids by Barebrush founder and CEO, Ilene Skeen.
The 31 artists represented in January, 2013, in day order are:

Each of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings for each artwork included in this calendar.
Viewers can also vote for “The People's Choice,”
a poll which includes all of the art in the calendar. The top three artworks in The People's Choice win one (1) complementary listing for their artists. Winners announced February 1st.
