Portraits predominate—Artwork was selected by Barebrush CEO and founder, Ilene Skeen. Guest curator, Angela Nacol, serving as juror of awards, selected the three Curators' Choice nominees. Ms. Nacol selected a striking acrylic, Beautiful Like A Thorny Rose by Terence Kelly of Manchester, UK, for the honor of launching the month. In addition, she selected an oil, the sedate and authoritative portrait, Brianna by Jean Marcellino of New York, NY and a beautifully captured photographic moment, Circus #1 by Joseph Mays of Louisville KY.

One artist, Richard White from Coventry, CT is making his calendar debut with two oil portraits, titled #15 and #28.

Another portrait, Rubin by Gil Conradis of Melbourne FL is retiring, having now been selected for three calendars.

The 30 artists represented in June, 2013, in day order are: 1* Terence Kelly, 2 Terence Kelly, 3 Roger Cummiskey, 4 Dennis Young, 5 Sam Martine, 6* Jean Marcellino, 7 Jon Rettich, 8 Darlene Kuhne, 9 Rebecca Venn, 10 Taehyub Lee, 11 Pacifico Palumbo, 12 Jacqui Morgan, 13 Peter Wong King, 14 Elizabeth Sowell-Zak, 15 Rebecca Venn, 16 Gil Conradis, 17 Taehyub Lee, 18* Joseph Mays, 19 Robert Copelan, 20 Janet E Gorman, 21 Malcolm McCoull, 22 David Schulz, 23 Neal Smithwillow, 24 Sam Martine, 25 Richard White, 26 Richard White, 27 Lindsay Rabson, 28 Jon Rettich, 29 Justin Austin, 30 Ilene Skeen.

The top artist receives an additional prize. Viewers can also vote for “The People's Choice,” a poll which includes all of the art in the calendar. The top three artworks in The People's Choice win one (1) complementary listing for their artists. Winners announced July 1st.

The Barebrush Provenance for each artwork is viewable by clicking on the calendar thumbnail (above) or on the caption under the artwork from each artist’s Barebrush Gallery page. The Barebrush program of retiring artworks that have been selected for three calendars is designed to encourage all artists to show their best new work and keep their online galleries fresh and interesting.
