Fascinating Faces, Places & More — Guest curator, Ann Aptaker has been an arts professional for over twenty years. Ms. Aptaker previously selected the art for N*des-of-the-Month calendars for August 2008, September 2010 and October 2012. In addition, Ms. Aptaker was one of the jurors of awards for the Barebrush invitational "brick & mortar" gallery show in February 2011, My N*de Valentine at Rogue Space Chelsea, NYC.
Ms. Aptaker selected three Curators' Choice nominees for October. Beginning the month's run, she gives us an appropriate oil, Work #658 by Robert Copelan of Lynchburg, VA. Ms. Aptaker also selected a color pencil drawing, GID TANK BLUE BLNKT DRAWING A253 by Jon Rettich of New York, NY; and a watercolor, VENICE REFLECTIONS by the late Jacqui Morgan of New York City, NY.
This month, Barebrush hosts our second "brick & mortar" gallery show in Chelsea. The show is at the Highline Loft. This is an invitational show, Barebrush artists only, Barebrush calendar art only. The show runs for four days only, October 17th - 20th. If you are in NYC, be sure to stop by to see Barebrush art on the wall!
One artist is making her calendar debut in October: Donna Ellery from Mc Indoe Falls, VT.
Barebrush.com is an international exhibition. Work in this calendar come from artists in nine US states as well as Canada, Mexico, Spain and England.

Each of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings for each artwork included in this calendar. Three artists, indicated by asterisks (*
), are nominated for the Curators Choice Awards
. Curators’ Choice nominees receive 8 additional complimentary listings. The top artist receives an additional prize.
Viewers can also vote for “The People's Choice,”
a poll which includes all of the art in the calendar. The top three artworks in The People's Choice win one (1) complementary listing for their artists. Winners announced November 1st.

The Barebrush program of retiring artworks that have been selected for three calendars is designed to encourage all artists to show their best new work and keep their online galleries fresh and interesting.
