The Last Hurrah -- Ilene Skeen is the founder of Barebrush and a member of the Salmagundi Club since 1999. This is the final calendar month of the Barebrush calendar series. This is the final calendar month of the Barebrush calendar series -- a bittersweet start to the summer.

Ms. Skeen selected three Curators' Choice nominees for July, (starred dates in the list): 1* Startle (oil) by Mateus Costa of Cheltenham, PA; 12* Portrait of Jenny Bauer (oil) by Stephen Panoushek of South Woodstock, VT; 18* Maria's Gypsy Dress (oil) by Jean Marcellino of New York, NY.

Artworks making their calendar debut: 13. Seven artworks are being retired, having now appeared in three calendars: Acuity by Dan Simoneau, ISAP of Kenosha, WI; The Daydreamer by Peggy Dean of Croton-on-Hudson, NY; Spotty Catches Spring Fever by Pacifico Palumbo of Colrain , MA; Three Views of Gazelle by Jacqueline Saunders of Burke, VA; Deep in thought by Peter Wong King of Cochiti Lake, NM; Convergence (On the Path) by Jeanne Sisson of Northfield, MA; Sad Cat by Tony Lee of Panama.

Art for this calendar comes from 12 states and Panama.
