Six Degrees of Summer: Part I—Guest curator for July and August is Claudia Seymour, former president of the Salmagundi Club, widely collected artist, and formidable art collector in her own right. Ms. Seymour chose an oil, Art is Long, by Janet A. Cook of New York, NY to launch the month and as Curators' Choice nominee. Ms. Seymour also selected four other Curators' Choice nominees: a watercolor, Mermaid by Rebecca Venn of Kenosha, WI; an oil, Jonas by Robert Markey of Ashfield, MA; a pair of sculptures, Perfectly Naked 17, 18 by Christopher Smith of Philadelphia, PA; and Woman Reclining on Mud Cloth, an oil by David Schulz of Middletown, CT.
Two artists are making their calendar debut: Linda Streicher from Morristown, NJ and Larry Scaturro from Brooklyn, NY.
In addition to the states already mentioned, artists in this calendar are from California, Deleware, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Missouri, Ohio and Virginia. Countries representated are: Canada, England and Mexico.
All thirty-one of the artworks are new to the Barebrush calendars.

Each of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings. Five artists, indicated by asterisks (*
), are nominated for the Curators Choice Awards. Curators’ Choice nominees receive 8 additional complimentary listings. The top three artists receive additional prizes.
Viewers can also vote for “My Favorite N*de,”
a poll which includes all of the art in the calendar. The top three artworks in My Favorite N*
de win one (1) complementary listing for their artists. Winners announced August 1st.
