Ms. Seymour chose an evocative pastel, Emma by Jean Marcellino of New York, NY to launch September, looking back at August. She also selected as Curators' Choice nominees: a sparkling oil painting, Kristal by Svetlana Kanyo of Edmonton, Canada; a mysterious and accomplished oil, Araidne auf Naxos by Bruce Erikson of Maineville, OH; Nude Study Silhouette a pen and ink drawing of great control by Terence Kelly of Manchester, UK; and a languid ink wash, A Tall Man by Jacqueline Saunders of Burke, VA.
One artwork is retiring, a watercolor, Venus N*de and Mostly Nude Cover by the late Jacqui Morgan of New York City. Jacqui, an inspirational educator, iconic illustrator, acclaimed visual artist, renowned watercolor painter, noted author, and simply wonderful lady, died in July and a memorial is planned for September at FIT, where she taught Watercolor Compositions.
