New York, August 2016 — BAREBRUSH presents Best-of-the-Rest calendar for August 2016. Barebrush offers the best art gallery and art contest, online since 2006. A total of 87 artworks were entered by 17 artists world-wide. Barebrush guest curator, Sebastien Aurillon, MZ Urban Art, selected the art. A total of 5 artists represent the 5 artworks for the 5 days in August. Viewers can see the Best-of-the-Rest calendar on the website.
The 5 artists for August 2016 are: 1 Dan Simoneau, ISAP, 2 Jean Marcellino, 3 Seonyoung Kim, 4 Elizabeth Sowell-Zak, 5 Ilene Skeen.
About the August 2016 CalendarPerhaps a Worried Song? -- With a background in the corporate world, working for high-end international companies in Paris, Sebastien Aurillon came to NY over a decade ago to become an art consultant for galleries and artists alike and also to keep on working on his own designs and creations. Currently, he is working for MZ Urban Art in both NY and LA, as well as helping other artists to promote their work.
Mr. Aurillon selected Fear not for the future, weep not for the past (acrylic) by Dan Simoneau, ISAP of Kenosha, WI to launch the month of August.Three artworks are being retired, having now appeared in three calendars: Jason, Detail #2 by Ilene Skeen of New York, NY; Blue by Seonyoung Kim of Woodside, NY; Fear not for the future, weep not for the past by Dan Simoneau, ISAP of Kenosha, WI.Art for this calendar comes from two states: Wisconsin and New York.
About the Barebrush Art Calendar ContestsEach of the artists selected for the calendar receives two (2) complimentary listings. Selection limits and prizes are determined dynamically based on the number of entries. See the call page for more information.
Winning art is historic and is viewable in the calendar archives (dating from 2006). Winning art becomes a permanent part of the history of Barebrush.com. In addition, each artwork's detail page show the date and curator of each calendar win as part of its Barebrush Provenance. The Barebrush program of retiring artworks which have been selected for three calendars is designed to encourage all artists to show their best new work and keep their online galleries fresh and interesting.
